Pardon me for lack of entries. Like what I always said, my plate is full especially now that we are expecting! I am swamped with work (which I am very much thankful), house chores (glad that husband is helping), and day to day activities.

By the way, I am officially 6th months preggy and yes, we are expecting a baby BOY! yipee... oh, husband is very much happy,you know.

Anyways, as of this writing, I am now officially window-online shopping for my baby boy. In fact, I am also checking some venues for his baptism... hahhaa. Talking about advance planning. Oh well, this is soo fun! I have to have my list already so I could ask my parents to buy it for me when they go to Canada this April.

Oh, btw, my EDD is May 24 already. Husband's birthday is May 23, so lets see what will happen. So far, so good. Baby is makulit, just like his father.. :-)

Finally...

Last two weeks, October 8, 2010 to be exact, we received a very beautiful blessing.

Since I was delayed for weeks already (LMP: August 19), I thought of having a home pregnancy test. At first, I was hesitant to take it (got a feeling it’s going to be negative again), but what the heck, I still tried. So after waiting for a minute or so, I was literally shocked, surprised, and mixed emotions when I saw the two lines.

I called the husband and showed to him the result. He just said, buntis ka? Funny, but still I could not believe it. Some friends said that we give it another try, so I asked the husband to buy another tester and viola, POSITIVE again.

Husband did not go to work so he accompanied me to the clinic for an ultrasound, and there we saw our little bundle of joy. He got a heartbeat already! (Sayang, hindi naminnarinig). Anyways, since we are very ecstatic with the news, I posted that night at my Facebook account the result. I was still in mixed emotions and I could not ask for anything else – safe and healthy pregnancy is all I need.

Now, according to pregnancy calendar, I am on my 8th week. I am happy and excited but at the same time anxious. I’m just lucky that I have a husband who spoils me from time to time, wonderful family who never stops pampering me and friends who are happy for us as well.

To my dearest baby, I can’t stop thinking of your baptism and birthday party just to keep me sane. You are the most precious gift I have and I promise to take care myself so you will always be safe and healthy. I love you to the nth power.

Viola, here I am again... Writing and then hiding..

Nah.. a lot of things happenned lately. Well, I've been wanting to discover a lot of things~ know my self, soul searching, everything. Perhaps, I am just flanked with work and my plate is full and I literally need a break.. Here I go again.

Oh well, I realised last night, that I am not a serious blogger. I don't update this blog, no time to write things and so on. But just to let you know I've been following a lot of blogs lately so reading I guess is my passion rather than writing, aha! In fact, I started reading a book again.. Isn't it perfect?

This October, another planned vacation is happening. Yes, yes, yo. A much needed one. It will be our first trip abroad together (and first time for the husband). Pretty excited, yes we are. Been saving so much for this trip and yes, hopefully our bundle of joy will be made out of the country. Hoping, wishing, and praying.

So far, I would say that I need a pampering treatment ~ massage, pedicure, and perhaps my "ME" time meaning, shopping. hahaa.. I can't shop when the husband is around except for grocery shopping. Anyways, speaking about the husband, he is totally committed to running lately: take note: MWF and Sats. Yes. Unfortunately, his belly tummy is still there because he cannot commit to two (2) months no drinking session. Wanna bet, honey? hahahaa.

.. for a beautiful Sunday!

There are so many things to be thankful for and honestly I am so grateful for every single blessing that we received. Of course, there are still lots of small and big wishes (*wink wink)and I know God will surely respond at the right time.

We heard mass in the morning (our usual routine) and then had lunch at my parents house. It was a quick lunch since we need to go somewhere in the afternoon.

I'm so glad that I married someone who is a maniac driver. Basically, I don't need a map or compass for direction. I just told the husband the address and he instantly knew where to go. If I am on the driver seat, that would be a different story. I stopped driving eversince I got married because I simply dunno (or forgot) to drive a manual vehicle. When I was still single, I was used on driving an automatic vehicle. But if I'll be the one driving, perhaps, I need a map or a compass. Yes a compass! Have you ever tried reading a compass? I know that this gadget is mostly used in jungles and war zone but can you honestly use it? Well, I have a friend who is fascinated with compass and he always tell me that a compass was there to get you thinking. Hahaha, I only know that for a newbie like me, reading would take some time. So thank God for a husband who is willing to drive for me. Hooray!

Travelling!

If you've read my previous posts, most of my write ups are about our travels. Yes, I am hooked and I can't get enough. Early this year, we've been to Baguio (Jan), Davao (Feb), Bataan & Subic (March), and Cebu (June).. Now that we have received our passports (got it renewed), I am planning for another trip. Hopefully, we can travel before the year ends or by early next year.. Still hoping.

But as of todate, I can say that we already have tentative plans, yes and wishing that this will be pushed through the soonest possible time.

And because most of my budget goes to our travel adventures, my dream bag is put on hold. Hay! Can't have both but, I am happy though.

Just swamped with work and laziness. Sorry blog for not updating you.

Summer is already over! And so far, I am extremely happy with all our summer vacay (Davao, Baguio, Bataan, and Cebu)..

How I wish that I could travel more.. and when I say more, it would be every weekend.. But reality does not permit us to do so.. There are bills to pay (my credit cards), utilities, and of course we need to save.. Well, I just hope it will be my motto next year..

I know I've written in this blog early this year (or late last year) that 2010 is our travel year. And surely, it was. And now, since our passports were renewed, I am looking for our international travel. I am hoping to book for either HK or Singapore trip by December (culmination of my birthday treat, anniversary gift, and holiday gift). I am also tempted to come with my brother in Taiwan, and also looking to travel in Bangkok,Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai and Beijing. If only I have all the money access, I would also love to join my folks in their Canada and US trip by April. Hay, ang sarap. But again, I have to consider a lot of things -- budget wise of course.

So for now, I will just save for our upcoming trip this December :)

To Go or Not To Go?

... well, we will be leaving for Cebu next month (June 5 to 7), for a much needed R & R -- thanks cebu pac for a very good fare. We are suppossed to go to Bohol (been there 2008) but the husband pleaded my desire that we spend a one night at Plantation Bay! Yes.. Lucky me.. However, here I am thinking twice.. hay naku... magulo utak ko.. I have two weeks to finalize and book everything and hopefully come May 15 or so..

So how did you spend your holy week?

Hope you were able to reflect and had some much needed rest.

As for me, my holiday started on April 2, Friday (since we are following AUS holidays) until Monday, April 5 (Easter Monday). The husband, on the other hand, was already on vacation Wednesday after lunch (sarap!).

Usually, we are spending the Holy Week out of town but since I wasn't able to file a leave earlier, we decided just to stay home for a change. We just had a quick get-away outside the city for some R&R during the weekend.

So going back on our Holy Week penance, we were able to do the Sacrament of Confession friday morning and then went on visiting 7 churches (all in QC only) for our simple Bisita Iglesia. It was nice to do this tradition pouring all your heart out while imagining the sacrifices of our Jesus Christ.

Davao Trip

I already blog here about our much-awaited Davao trip. Thank you to our good friends, Jeff and Vlad for scoring a budget fare and also for Ann and Cha (minus Edward since he was in Bora that time)for touring us in Davao and for letting us stay at their place before staying overnight at Pearl Farm.

The experience is truly amazing. How I wish we spent a couple of days more so we could explore and sightsee other tourist spots in Davao, the Samal Island, more food trippings, lots of kwentuhan and more rest of course.

Here are some snapshots of our recent trip.

** If I have extra budget and internet connection is not a problem, I could stay for 2 more days at Pearl Farm. Food is lip-smacking and my husband could attest to that. But on a serious note, what I love about this place is the exclusivity and the service that you could get. Well, the price we paid for an overnight stay is truly worth every penny!

Usually, we are spending Sunday lunch with my family. But since it's Vday, I told the husband that we are going to have a "lunch date". We drove to Timog at 12noon. I initially wanted to eat at Alfredo's but he doesn't like the idea. So, we searched for other restos in the area and found Red Crab/The Flying Pig.

I would say that for it's price, it's kinda pricey. But it's worth every penny since I am with the husband. LOL!

Davao Here We Come...

I promise myself that this year will be our travel year! And true to my words, we already travelled to Baguio last January (together with my family & family friends).

This february, we will have a quick get-away to Davao (city tour and overnight stay at Pearl farm). Yahoo!

I honestly can't wait to have an R&R. I saved so much for our Pearl Farm trip and hopefully, I would be able to experience their Ylang-Ylang Spa (of course with the husband too!).

Well, I haven't searched yet for the city tour since hubby's friend will be the one to tour us but I already have some ideas on places to go to. I just hope that we could try davao rafting, for experience, visit Hamigit falls, Eden Park, and of course the market for some Davao shopping experience.

As for Pearl Farm, I really have high hopes for this resort since mostly foreigners are visiting this place.

Hay, I can't wait for our vacation!

I never demanded anything or set ground rules for my partner. I always believe that you make your own choices and you better be conscious of what your partner would feel.

But I guess the case is not always like that. Or perhaps, we always have selfish reasons why we keep on hurting the person we love or the person that loves us.

In the long run, both of you should keep your composure. Have some space (especially if both of you are burnt out), and think things over seriously. Proper dialogue would come if you are both ready to admit faults (the word "sorry" is already overused) and change for the better (not because it is a must, but because your vows are important as ever).

have you ever experienced comforting someone but at the end, he/she does not recognize it? it feels so bad right?!

a friend of mine once told me this... be careful with your choice of words since it is permanent and you can never take it back.

now i realise that, let the person dwell on his/her sorrows and perhaps, when he/she needs a shoulder to cry on then that is the time you will hold his/her hand and say something nice. but other than that, let it go....

I am enjoying my Holidays to the max! Well, aside that I have no work but fully paid (vacation mode from Dec 25 to Jan 4), I got the chance to meet good friends and chat about anything and everything under the sun (or should I say with a bottle of beer!).

Though, I have to admit that I am a little stress (with all those holiday shopping and food preparation); finally, I already experience becoming busy during the holidays- and when you say busy, busy as in you do ALL the shopping, budgeting, and budgeting. LOL!

Well, aside from partying for three days (three days in a row, my dear!), I have accomplished a lot of things too.. Had my SSS and Philhealth changed from my maiden name to married name, renewed my driver's license (though it doesn't carry yet my married name - Pa and Ma, where's my car-- didnt drive for a year), and hopefully today sort out my wedding pics (after doing some house chores and a little raket). Oh ya..

I soo LVoe this season.. And of course it would not be complete without family, relatives, and friends around..

Luckily yes…

We celebrated our first year wedding anniversary last December 20. Nothing really extravagant since our schedules are both full-packed and the fact that I am cramming for the holidays (still need three gifts and that includes the husband’s gift -hehehe). Just looking forward for our Davao trip (and Pearl farm) this coming February 2010.

Prior getting hitched in 2008, we are in bf/gf relationship for 5 years. Families and friends always warned us that it’s a different story if you are living together already… And I must say that it is absolutely RIGHT (without any blink of an eye). Aside that you are both sharing the house expense (utilities, groceries, dining out, travelling, etc), you are also adjusting to each other’s values – which is kinda challenging. Oh well, I have lots of qualms during our first three months and I would say that the adjustment period was really tough. Good thing I have my family and good friends who is willing to share their experiences (not being biased) and yes, it opened my eyes to a LOT of things about married life. But I tell you, up to now, I am still struggling and I guess the husband too. LOL!

As they say, it will be a long journey ahead of us and we are bracing ourselves for more @-,--

YES WE ARE..

I've been reading some articles here and I found out a wonderful product that is locally made.

Okay, I might be the last person on earth to know about their products but hey, I am lucky that I chanced upon these great (quite expensive though) items in Cubao Expo when we went there last Saturday.

So, here are my loots for a starter:

TAMING OF THE 'DO.A MUST have! My hair smells so great! And even my dad said that "ang bango naman ng buhok mu, anak". Well, quite expensive for 285ML but I tell you, it's worth it! If I am not on a budget, I will definitely give this as xmas presents for my girlfriends.

CLEAN SLATE.I tend to get breakouts whenever my period is around the corner. But this facial wash, do wonders. Well, it may not be as foamy as your regular, commercial facial wash, so you might think twice if this is effective or not. But I've been using it for 4 days, and I tell you, I don't need oil blotters anymore. Goodbye to oily face :)

FACE CANVAS.Another MUST have. I apply it during the day and yes, it doesn't make my face oily too. I've read the reviews and it is perfect as make up base. Thinking of giving this to my mom on xmas.. Something organic!

I am so glad too that they accept orders online. And oh, if you are not keen on using these products, I suggest you get their bundle packages.

Definitely A Year Wiser!

...And so I turned a year older last November 30!

I don’t usually go to work since my birth date falls on a legal holiday. But since I am now a Contractor and my birthday is not considered as international holiday, I did my usual working day routine. The only difference is I ordered breakfast for me and the husband since I am so lazy to cook (birthday ko kaya). Of course, Jollibee to the rescue!

Then, the husband handed me his birthday gift! Ahem ahem... with matching “Honey, happee birthday!” Yup yup..

Everyone in the virtual office greeted me with a bang (one of my bosses greeted me at 4am- AUS time of course) in skype. The ugly part is, my internet connection got disconnected at 11am… What a headache! I swear, nakakainis sya.. But amidst my unhappiness, I was able to get back to work with my bro-in-law’s internet connection (which reminds me that I really need a back up connection). So anyway, I waited ‘till 4pm since the husband and I need to go to Edsa Shang to deliver some goods and yes, eat dinner as well. Another food tripping!

If there’s an extra special gift that I received?? – Well, I am looking forward to it in the near future *wink*. For now, I am happy with ALL the blessings coming our way (for me and the husband). If there’s something that I really wish.. well, BIG SECRET un. I know it will come at the right time.

Like what I’ve said, I wish for good health for me, for the husband, and for our families; great and wonderful opportunities in terms of work, travel, adventures and life; happy marriage; and things that money can’t buy.

God has given me so much blessings for the past 31 years. Like what I’ve said, I have a great family (Papa, Mama, and Mon), a hardworking and patient husband, great friends, and supportive relatives. For that alone, I am blessed!

Birthday Gift

7 days before my birthdate, my mom already surprised me with a gift.

It was something very special since I was with her when she bought it. Initially, she asked me if I wanted a bag (LV na sana) but for whatever reason, I wanted something different.

When we went to this jewelry store, I somehow knew, what would be her gift. Although, I am not sure as well if she's gonna buy me one since she's been addicted to jewelry buying now(every week, she tells me -- Look at my new gem). So I just wait and see.. And whola, she asked me to try this two-toned (yellow gold and rose gold)loop earrings similar to the one we had before.

And yes, been LVoing it and will be wearing it on my birthdate!

And the price tag? Don't bother to ask... Very expensive I tell you.

Best Things In Life Don't Come With A Price Tag

I should tell this to myself often.

Well, I know we deserve retail therapy once in awhile BUT I guess we have to be more vigilant or should I say practical on the items that we are going to purchase (oh my, LV bag ko).

Last night, after grocery shopping with the husband, I wrote down my expenses (waaah) and start thinking that I should stop relying on my credit cards (yes, with an S since I own 3! - Kainis) and better start saving especially that I am really planning something "big" for next year.

So while thinking and jotting down notes, I concluded -- I will pay one of my cards in full this month (birthday gift for myself) and hopefully by next year, I will be able to pay the other card too in full. That's a nice plan indeed and will just maintain 1 card for emergency purposes (hmmm??? -- LV, hahahaha). Bahala na. Basta that's my goal. I should have done this a long, long time ago when I left the corporate world and got "huge" amount of moolah. BUT well, I am so magastos so credit cards for me are always on the rescue. Hence, since I am thinking too loud this year and for next year, I have to think of a better plan to make my "travel" plans become a reality. And yes, cutting down some debt and expenses is a good start.

I would like also to share with you this article I've read awhile ago and perhaps this is the reason why I came to my senses and realise that hey, better start doing something!

Oh well, I am just happy because it is already my birth month :) Ang saya saya..

Anyways, I have good and bad news but I don't want to divulge it here.. hahaha :) But the thing is I am happy and contented. I also realise that more than anything else I need to be more realistic about life, empower myself, and take care of my health.

If we are friends in FB, you would notice that my last week's message is Health Is Wealth. I often utter this words especially if I knew someone who got sick because of overwork or has barely no time for himself/herself. The bad thing is.. I dont follow what I preach.. Kainis. Until last week, I realised that I am killing myself to death... (OA sa expression!) but yes, it is true. In fact, I felt really bad because I am stretching my limits to the end. Haller, we only have 24 hours right?! And as a writer for health and weight loss tips, we need at least 6 to 8 hours sleep everyday.. So see, I am not a follower of what I write nor preach.. I feel really bad that time.

Nevertheless, I made a decision and so far, I am loving it. And yes, I also have faith that if you let go of something, there are still other opportunities to come. You just have to make smart decisions.. And I just did!

Anyways, I have much bigger plans too.. I just hope that the lazy attitude of mine will go away so that I could start my plans..

Oh by the way, Kuddos to the husband for the support and to my mom! Love yah!

After my OB check up yesterday, I felt very bad as if my heart crashed. No, there's no bad news or anything. But the thing is, I just realise that no matter I restrain myself from the pressure of family and friends regarding baby news, I am so much affected. So, I asked the husband if he wanted us to follow my OB's work up plan. Well, he likes kids so I guess he is just waiting for my answer instead. I bought the medicines and vitamins at the pharmacy and then went home for dinner. I am quiet the whole time and really thinking too loud. What am I supposed to do... isip isip...?

I was tinkering with my laptop and talking to a friend in Skype when suddenly tears began flowing in my eyes... Oh my... Again, this is it... Pressured na ako! Actually, I am not pressured of getting preggy (cause I know it will literally come at the right time), I guess it's more like I am pressuring myself to take my OB's order so everyone would stop asking me if there's a baby coming. Kainis!

I could not say if we were both okay last night. But this morning, before he left, he just bid his usual goodbye morning kiss. He knows that if I am not speaking, something is wrong and he is right. Again, I am quiet the whole time, went back to my laptop and work on some opportunities.

By 10am, I got a text from the husband if I am okay. -- I just said " I wanna go somewhere else alone.. Then he said, let’s just watch movie later... And instantly, a smile was put into my face... Grabeh, the big lump that I was feeling this morning was gone.

So tell me, Isn't He the Sweetest Person on Earth? I tell you, he is the only person who could make me smile when my spirits are low and if my days are dark! He may not be my ideal Romeo, but I would say that he is to me the best person that could really, really ponder to my stubbornness. Thanks husband!

Time To Exercise

It's been a long time since I last played badminton. Early January till April of this year, we (brother & his GF, and me and the husband) religiously play the game and even hired a trainer to teach us the basic rules of the game and proper smashing. But apparently, after lotss of excuses and we become busy with other activities, our thrice a week routine was put on hold.

Though the husband and I always agree to jog every Sunday (at least for me to have a physical activity), that deal never pushed through. As in hindi. We ended up waking up late and just in time for a 10 am mass. At the end, I ended up buying tons of aerobics DVD, listen to MJ music and dance till my feet gets hurt, and clean the CR (panalo diba) just to burn calories.

But last Saturday was indeed a great adventure once again as we (together with the husband and virtual-office –friends) held our monthly get together in a badminton arena. Wow! At long last, napawisan na rin ako. Never mind if it’s too hot inside (bearable naman), since my objective on that day is to exercise. And I am glad I did.

Vowed that before the year ends, I am already fit.. Well, I have numerous of reasons why but I just want to keep it to myself. Hopefully, another badminton activity will take place soon!

Working At Home

Eversince I started working at home, I never checked on job opportunities that requires me to travel from QC to Ortigas or QC to Makati (well, once in awhile I peek but I never considered applying).

My dad always says "You are lucky because you don't need to travel to go to work". Well, that's a fact since my work is home based! But at times, I feel that something is really missing.. Just imagine yourself stuck at the four corners of your home-office; the occasional chats and meeting is the only thing that keeps you sane.

Anyways, I've been in this kind of setting for a year and half and so.. and as far as it goes.. everything is okay! I have adjusted.. (I hope so) and I guess I don't have to complain much since I am one lucky fellow who can enjoy the comforts of my bed while working and at the same time watching my favorite show.

I know I’ve been hiatus for a month now in my own sanctuary. Well, work, house chores, and lot of activities occupied my time (not to mention that I got sick two weeks ago and got confined in the hospital). But okay, I am back.. hopefully back to keep this blog updated…

This week was a tremendous experience. In some point in my life, my spirits were low. Thank God I have a husband who cuddled me at night to ease the pain that I have been feeling for the past days. For the last five months, yes, I am happy but somehow stress. No matter how I remind myself that Health Is Wealth and Money Is Not Everything, I still continued to stretch my limit (thinking of my credit card bills and other expenses). But was it all worth it? I would like to think Yes since I am a moolah girl and was able to buy the luxuries of life. But just thinking now, how sad I am, I guess it isn’t.

God must have his own reasons for letting me feel this way. I just hope that sooner I would be able to pick up the pieces of myself that was torn apart.

I just got a word from my mom that they will be going to Pearl Farm on their 31st Wedding Anniversary this August. Wow naman. Sarap. Well, my brother and I will agree that they both deserve a vacay afterall, they have been working so much.. Hmm.. Parang I need one too kaya.

Anyways, I've been planning for an out of town vacation as well but I guess it would be either September or October. I just need to finalize everything and of course, save and save.. I have a roundtrip ticket already so my only dilemma is to reserve one for the husband. Indefinite itinerary is Cebu and Bohol but if everything fails, we'll be heading to Bora (my favorite sanctuary). Well, I guess I should start saving and saving (pass muna sa bags, shoes, makeups, and dresses).

Oh, by the way, my brother just got home from his trip to HK. Sarap noh!

Back to Basix

Last Saturday, I was so excited when I was able to surf around the house with no cables at all (and to think that I was able to configure the router on my own), yes talking about WiFi.

But then last Wednesday night, I found out that it's not working. Shet, nagoverheat ata. I was really devastated. I never thought that I would appreciate this film. I actually declined to watch this movie with my friends 'cause like what I've said.. I am not a FAN.

So apparently while watching a morning show and the two hosts gave good reviews and raves about this film, wow.. I texted the husband right away and said, "honey, watch tayong Transformers later". Hahahaha. Kainis!

And yes, I instantly fell in love. I was in shock all throughout while watching the film. Grabe, perfect, as in two thumbs up... Effects are soo great...

So if someone said that he/she is not a fan of this '80's cartoons show, give him or her a slap and say.. Okay ka lang...

It's been a long time since my last entry. Sowee guys.

As my usual excuse, I become very busy with work (thank you Lord), house chores (hmp!), OB check ups (yes.. I am seeing one now in preparation), my diet (my biggest dilemma), house renovation (yes...sa wakas), time with hubby (of cors) and a lot more commitments.

Well, I dunno where to start but let me say that I am looking forward for a great week again.

To start off, let me greet everyone a post "Happy Father's Day".

We had a simple celebration in the house (my parent's house) then my mom and I watched Changeling and I fell asleep (hahaha) and hubby too.

Then, went to the nearest mall to buy some stuffs and rent VCDs again...

As mentioned above, we are having house renovations... so well we are eyeing some stuffs for the house of course particularly the bedroom... and basically here are some of our wishlists:

* LCD tv (either Samsung or LG)
* a very good mattress and linens (of course), beige or brown hues
* lampshades
* blinds
* B-A-G (kasali ba to?) ... hehehe, Yes, I need new one na.. Been ages. Haay :)
* and other stuffs...

Well, we have been saving for Xmas but I guess we need to use the funds first since we are eyeing to have the wishlists above.

The Birthday Boy

Last weekend was honey's birthday. I told him to reserve Sats and Suns for me (though, we had a simple celebration the day before his birthdate) since I plan to go to tagaytay for a quick getaway.

We hit the road before lunch on a sunny saturday since we both need to run some errands... I never thought that the hotels in tagaytay will be fully booked so I did not make any reservations beforehand. Hay, sayang ang Taal Vista Hotel (kainis!). Initially, I wanted to stay at The Boutique but due to some reviews, I was really turned off. I was already panicking when the clock ticks at 9am since we do not have any hotel reservations yet. Heaven thank you, we were saved by One Tagaytay Place for our accomodation. The hotel is quite new, that's why everything is still well-kept (hahaha) and for it's price of a one bedroom suite, sobrang sulit.. oh well, except that we had a typical breakfast buffet (maybe I expect more). Other than that, the service is okay....

What did we do.. of course, we went to Pink Sisters (to say thank you for all the blessings -- it's my first time there!), ate lunch-merienda at Leslie's tagaytay and went to People's Park. We were supposed to go to Caluerga but sobrang late na and we both really want to rest.

Sarap talagang magpahinga away from all the hustle and bustle of city lights and sounds.

If there is one movie that made me laugh so hard this week... that would be...

Yes, the movie is too old already. Actually, it was shown way back 2005 (imagine that!) but c'mon, after all the week's stresses, who wouldn't want to watch a "feel-good" movie. Grabeh! I was laughing all the time.

Hmm.. How come I don't have a first love when I was 10 or 11 years old? Or did I just ignore the fact that i was falling in love back then? Whatever it is... ang sarap talagang maging bata!

Post Mother's Day Special

Last Sunday, after mass, hubby and I went to the nearest mall in our vicinity to buy flowers and cake for my mom and our Ate Linda (our nanny for ages). Definitely, I already expected the price increase in flowers and the long queue for buying a cake. I just wished that I ordered online prior to this event to avoid lining up. Haay..

Since "Our Lady of Fatima" is also scheduled to be picked up at our home, my mom prepared sumptuous meals (I baked a cake too!) for the attendants and to celebrate her birth date and mother's day as well. It was a quick preparation since we only have three (3) hours to prepare everything and I could say that her tacos are the best sellers. I am planning to prepare that too in the coming days.

Working at the convenience of your own home can be truly awesome. You can work even without taking a bath, and most of all, you do not need to commute going to the office. It’s a luxury I guess.

On the other hand, it has lots of disadvantages as well and that’s been bugging me for months now. Well, don’t get me wrong. I enjoy my work so much and until now I cannot believe that the virtual workplace does exist. And so, if there are any complaints, well, maybe because I moved to a different house now (hubby’s home) and I don’t have any companions here so I need to wait hubby to get home. Quite boring isn’t? And of course, boys will always be boys… Though I know he is excited to see me when he gets home, well he has “extra” activities to keep him sane. So to keep the story short.. yes, I am quite bored. Bored because I am working alone in the four corners of the room.. Though constant chats keeps me company.. what I miss I guess is real action..

So anyways, to end this misery, I need to do something for myself. Mom actually gave me good ideas and I've been doing it since the start of the week.

1) Do not wear your everyday clothes when going to virtual work.
2) Put on some make up. (This makes sense since I only apply colors on weekends)
3) Listen to good music.
4) Go out after work.
5) Make new friends.
6) Treat yourself every now and then.

I guess the list goes on..

Eversince I heard about Burt's Bees products, I convinced myself to try it. In fact, after my first lip balm addiction, I then, purchased another lip balm (this time with color) as well as the uber soothing minty lotion, hand salve. And so far, I am loving the products. I even apply lip balm to hubby so his lips wont get chapped during the day :)

Oh well if budget is not really an objection, perhaps, I will purchase everything from shampoo to soaps. Let me see if I can convince my mom to purchase some for me if she travels to the US this may. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Short Trip to Caramoan Island

In my previous post, we were supposed to visit Caramoan Island this coming Holy Week. But plans were postponed since the husband and I will accompany my parents for a grand vacation instead.

Lucky for us, my hubby’s aunt and her hubby went on vacationing here in Manila and invited us (together with Kuya’s family) to go with them to Caramoan. It was a long trip for us (took us 12 hours), given that we took the bus going to Naga, then a van going to Sabang port, and a boat ride to Caramoan town.

But if you’ll ask me if everything was worth it.. the answer is YES YES YES!

Knowing that the breeze of the ocean makes your inner senses calm especially with all the stresses here in Manila. It was definitely a retreat for me and hubby. I even told the husband that I can live in that island as long as we have our own house, a yacht, and an internet connection… ahahaha.. silly me… But hey, it is one of the short trips I enjoyed and I am looking forward to visit Caramoan island once more, this time with a company of good friends.

WoWowee -- A TV Show for Filipino People

I am not a fan of WoWowee but sometimes the show really makes sense. We often times laugh with their game contestants but in reality, people who join the show’s contests are only finding means and ways to survive in everyday living.

As my mentor blog in her site, the Monday’s episode was really touching. Just imagine how jeepney and tricycle drivers, housemaids, among others are really working hard to send their children in law and medical school. Yes, you heard it right. For all we know, these people are only earning not even ten thousand or more in a month but they persevere and don’t complain at all. Amidst all the hardships and struggling for living, truly they are inspiring.

Like what I said in her post, I even appreciate more my parents’ adversity all these years now that I am married. I am lucky to have wonderful parents who strove hard and provided us with all the comforts in life. Though during our younger years, we tend to whine sometimes. Looking back, I know it is somehow guilty.

To the staff and hosts of Wowee, continue to give inspiration to the Filipino people not only here in the Philippines but all over the globe.

Eventhough I only had one hour of sleep, I don't mind at all.

My brother visited me in our humble abode, we had lunch.. I cooked "daing" and re-heated "adobong baboy" (our viand the other day) and served ice cream with bananas for dessert... Yummy! Had a nice chit chat and great laughs while slicing the cake he brought for us which reminds me that I almost ate it.. Sarap eh..

We hit the road after, accompanied me to some errands... and yes, I bought some things for myself...

It's been awhile that I bought some books.. hahaa... so instead of one, I bought three... oh well, I should have used mom's extension card for this. Anyways, bought some dvds as well and some grocery items..

It was the same month last year when I started blogging. I thought all the while this will be a waste of time but since then I am grateful that this has become my style of entertainment. Although I am not a frequent blogger compared before, been on hiatus for days, in spite of everything this is what I take pleasure in – writing! And certainly, I couldn’t ask for more especially when I learned that I could make money blogging too. So imagine how jubilant I was.

As much as I remember, I used my earnings to pay our wedding invitation supplier. One of the reasons why I overindulge on that section. Nevertheless, I look forward to more blog marketing this year and years to come. In one way or another, this is a first rate marketing tool; advertising and broadcasting your products at the world wide web. Technology is without a doubt great invention!

I now recommend to my other friends to try and put up their own blog page. After all, It can be anything under the sun. No hold bars, as long as you can allocate superfluous time to bring up to date your site. On the contrary, since any person has the liberty to write any subject matter, one should be aware of their responsibility also.

Holy Week Plans

Okay I know... this is too early. I just can't wait to make holy week plans this year. In our family, I always look forward this season since this is the time we usually travel may it be an out-of-town trip or outside the country. And since, I am... ahem... just got married, making plans with my husband (naks!) and a couple of friends is so exciting.

Some invited of going to Boracay BUT I am bit hesitant aside from the airfare will be very expensive that time, I am 200% sure that it will be very crowded. Instead, my choice of destination will be Caramoan Island... Yep! I've been looking packages over the net and it seems reasonable... Can't wait for it :)

It just sinks in that hey, it's 2009 already and what better way to start the year right is to accomplish a LOT of things as early as now. Am I correct?

Oh well, if you ask me it seems that I am still floating. Coming from a 3 week vacation and enjoying the compliments of our wedding hoopla, my mood is still on vacay. Can you blame me? But as I've said, I have to do something realistic now especially that I have a partner and we have lots of plans to accomplish.

Don't want to enumerate my goals this year coz honestly I am quite lazy. But if there's one thing I need to do more, basically is to feed my mind, my body and my soul. And when to start? My answer is SOONEST!

Turning 30!

I turned 30 last end of November. Honestly, I am shying away from celebrating my D-day since I know that every year plus one is added to my age. But this time is different. Since I will be saying goodbye to my singlehood, I really celebrated it with a bang! And of course, there was a little surprise that my mom prepared for me. Actually it was a culmination of birthday and shower party in one. My friends whom I invited was quite shock as well but at the same time, we learned a LOT of naughty informations. Here are some highlights on that day!

Guests consists of relatives, husband-to-be's family, close friends, and family friends.

My mom suggested of bringing an inexpensive wacky gift. So aside from the T-backs, or other special undies, I also got porno dvds, balot, banana, condom, and even tawas! Everyone had a naughty and clean fun day!

The healthcare industry I guess is the only industry in the US that is not affected by the recession. Good thing as well that US President Elect Barack Obama is giving importance on this issue. I bet new reforms will be made starting next year especially that downturn has really hit the US. At least they know what to prioritize and where to allot funds.

If only our officials are not corrupt, for sure our resources can be enjoyed by everyone else. But since everyone has their own intentions and has a different perspective of serving, it’s no doubt why each one is affected. After my much celebrated birthday, Dec. 1, Leo and I headed to cinemas for a time out for all the wedding hooplas and et al.

My first choice of movie was Twilight since I've been reading about blogs on this or One True Love, just to unleash all the stresses that we are feeling right now. But anyway, Quantum of Solace is enough. I may not be a James Bond addict BUT this movie is not an action packed thriller compared to the Bond films I have watched before. Oh well, this is just a stress reliver after all.

I couldn’t remember the last debut I have attended. But every time I attended one, I always remember the fond memories I had during those days. It was fun, memorable and the best gift I have ever received.

Anyways, this coming Saturday, my cousin will be turning 18. Nothing grand actually but since it’s her bid to childhood, we urge my aunt to celebrate it with a little frills. After all, she is the first born! So now I am in search of a gift that she could actually call her own. Leo suggested of giving something precious and I thought of a gem. But since my budget is low, I have to think of something that would not cost big bucks but at the same time something elegant or timeless.

I’ve been searching the web for a nice gift until I couldn’t resist looking at a certain piece of jewelry, Sterling Silver Bracelets. It is somehow similar to the gift that my brother gave me few years back that until now I kept and cherished. How I love the style and perfect for my cousin’s age. Anyways, I also found to my delight Silver Bangles, which I am fond of wearing now. Can I request it for a birthday gift?

Looking For A Second Job?

Now that US is experiencing recession, let us admit that yes everybody is affected. In fact, it has a big blow in our economy since some of our Overseas Filipino Workers opted to go home. What a bad timing isn’t it, especially that Christmas is almost near.

Last night, I had a chance to chat with my friend’s sister who is based in California. She told me that she is now preparing to take online classes for medical assistant. Though there are medical assistant schools to choose from over the net, she would like at least to decide the finest school and has most of hospital accreditations. And of course, she needs to take into account the fees too. Good thing about this is she is not losing hope and even looking at the positive side of life. In fact, she is even grateful cause having a degree in medical assistance could even bring her to different places. And why not?

I just wonder if my future mother and father-in-laws are considering medical assistant as their second job in the US. Since they are based in Iowa, I am pretty sure that only a few people are taking lessons on this. I’ll try to check out with my husband-to-be about their other plans.

She's More Excited

My mom is more excited than I am. And to tell you frankly, she is more OC than me. I guess mother’s instincts. So, what made her busy with the wedding preparations, here are some lists:

1) She bought materials for our missalette last Sunday.
2) Accompanied me to GH and Market Market to buy gifts for our Ninongs and Ninangs as well as for our entourage.
3) Chose the styling for the church.
4) Advises me to buy wines and to finish the text in the missalette.
5) She will be doing our AVP
6) She is conceptualizing a design in wrapping our gifts for Ninangs.
7) And so much more!

I am one lucky girl:) And in return for everything that she’s done for me, I said a sweet “Thank you” this Sunday. I just can’t imagine life without her really! Thanks mom.

Better Service for NSO

I am so pissed off with the kind of service that our government has. Since we are completing all our important documents which includes Birth Certificate of course, we are having a hard time getting it. Imagine, we called their hotline several times already, asking my h2b's status of birth certificate.

As they say, they already have a computerized system but what a heck. They cannot even find my hubby’s BC. Oh my! Well, I had a hard time getting mine too but at least when I went there to check if it’s ready, I don’t have to wait for so many hours unlike others who were there waiting from 9:30 am. Grabeh! Just imagine that! And one more thing, the “manang” or should I say the employee who gives the copy is so sungit to the max. Saying words like ang babastos and to think that she is more bastos. Can somebody help our government please! No wonder why red tape is everywhere. With the kind of system that we have, computerized ba talaga or manual ?? Haay naku.. BIG CHANGE please!

Everything Is Evolving

I am not a techie person. In fact, I seldom use our camera, my Ipod, and my cellphone. The most trusted gadget I have is my laptop, a Compaq Presario B1200. Not because I love to tinker with its pad but because I need this machine for work. Nevertheless, it is my most prized possession now ever since it provides for my income and having the luxury to work at home. Aside from work activities, our important documents, pictures, schedules and meetings are also stored here. And yes at times, I am convinced of buying an external hard disk drive for back up purposes.

I would say that somehow I am immersed with the new technology that we can enjoy now since I am working home based. I never imagine that I can go to meeting using an online based conference software, the advancement of voice over IP helps me communicate with our US and UK clients, the power of google documents, free communication services like Skype, YM, and so much more. At the end of the day, I can’t help but smile cause I know, when the day comes that working at home becomes rampant, technology indeed has a major part of and I am glad that I am one of the few people who experienced it.

Wonder Tree

As they say, all commodities right now are increasing, and same goes with the vegetables. Every week I ran to the supermarket so I know how hard it is to really maximize the budget. That’s why one day, I brought home seedlings of various herbs so at least this would not add to my grocery list. Best of all, it is fresh and can just be picked in our garden, not to mention that they also smells very good. I just cannot wait to see them growing and multiply.

Another interesting thing to note is all along we have a Malunggay tree in the backyard or Moringa in English. Ever since the news broke about how nutritious the Malunggay leaves is, it has become staple in our everyday menu. From pork to fish and pasta and other dishes, we are adding malunggay leaves, may it be fresh or dried. Who could ever imagine that this Malunggay tree, often ignored is abundant with so much nutrition and vitamins. Not to mention that this can easily be found in our own backyard or at our neighbors perhaps so everyone could really benefit from this. Kudos to this tree or should I say wonder vegetable!

Honey is on leave for a week and 2 days.. Since I call this the last leg of our wedding preparations, we have accomplished so far like getting our NSO birth certificates (which by-the-way is the most hassle part of preparing our docs), submitting our BANNS and Permit to Marry, awaiting for the arrival of our Cenomar so we could apply for Marriage License, got our souvenir boxes (this has another story), and final proof of our invitations. We were able to buy also our souvenirs for our Ninangs (another gift from mom) and so much more. Indeed, he has a busy and fruitful day-off or leave afterall..

I always kid my husband-to-be that sooner or later, his joy of playing cards will definitely be out of the picture. So say goodbye to late night games of playing poker, rummy games, wild card guess, and so much more with his closest friends. But frankly speaking, I know that playing card games is part of his growing up years, so how can I literally say no if he asked once in a while. Well, I don’t want to be selfish but if this is his form of releasing stress, can I say No? Of course not. So honey, yes, from time to time I will let you play.

I just blog days ago regarding all the stresses I am feeling right now. And if there's something that would complicate or add into this situation, perhaps, I will suffer from an emotional stress. Which I hope not.

Last Saturday morning, around 4 am, Leo (my husband-to-be) got into an accident. He knew that I am awake that time because my shift will end at 9am, and yes I am the only person that he could call at the wee hours of the morning. He told me that his windshield was broken and he is in quezon avenue. He asked me to come there and so I said yes. I asked also what had happened, if he was drunk, what happened to the car, and so on. But the only words that he keeps on saying is “puntahan ko sya”. I asked my brother to accompany me and he said that we asked my dad’s permission first. At least he would know where we are. To my surprise, my dad volunteered to go with me and we headed to quezon avenue.

I know Leo was so worried cause I have been receiving non-stop text from him. He is worried about the car, the additional expenses, that he will be on leave for a week, and so on. But what I was thinking right now if he is safe more than ever. When we saw him at quezon avenue, I knew already that he is drunk. I could smell the beer plus he looks so wasted. Though he suffered from bruises on the head, thank God it wasn’t deep. The only fear I have back then is what if something really bad happened.

I don’t want to aggravate things even more but I was in deep shit when I learned that he was drunk, he drove fast and yes he fell asleep while driving. Reason why he bumped in one of the island or post in quezon avenue. I actually can’t stop myself from texting him in ALL CAPS “ You should have thought about it.” I mean, hello, we have months before our wedding and yes we are really saving our moolahs to the max cause we have unexpected expenses. I know it hurts but sometimes, there is a need for a reality check.

I contacted his parents in the US, cause I know more than ever, they need to know what happened. As expected, they were in shock, hurt, and of course mad a bit but those were only their initial reactions. They advised me to accompany Leo at the hospital to at least be checked by a doctor and be given of first aid. As expected, Leo is more than concerned with his vehicle. When we were in the car, I couldn’t even bother to say something. I was bit low, I wanted to cry, in my mind, this guy that I am bound to marry is totally irresponsible with his life.

The doctor said that since he was conscious and that he didn’t vomit, there is no need to undergo x-ray. He was given anti-tetanus, antibiotics, and pain reliever for his medication. Still, I was blank. Maybe I was really mad not because of selfish reasons but because more than anything else, I was expecting that he should be MORE careful since we have months away before our big day. A s if someone slapped me in my face so hard. After our hospital stint, I was trying to convince him to stay in our house for the meantime, at least I will be there to check on him from time to time. But he keeps on insisting that he’ll just go home and rest there. Well, I am too tired of insisting also that’s why we parted ways after eating breakfast.

I went home really bad. And still I wanted to cry but no tears are coming out. What a strong person I am! I hit the sack but I really could not sleep and so I just helped my mom in the kitchen since we will be having a house blessing at lunch time.

Still, I got a text from Leo that he is so sad and so on and the usual me, tried to comfort my future husband who I know more than anything else is suffering with so much pain. What else can I do but give him strength. I just wish that this time, he will listen and learn from this.

Here It Comes!!!

We have barely months to go and I guess we haven't accomplished the small details that we need for the wedding. I have to admit that I am so stress lately; lack of sleep, wedding stress, our budget, and other errands. I never thought that this would be so stressful. Usually, I nod whenever a friend bride would tell me that wedding preparations can be tiring and that your relationship with your partner can put to a test. No, I haven’t cried yet but many times I would want to lock myself in my room for one day and just have my own ME time. Oh well, what can I do but to shrug this off and look forward.

So what we have accomplished so far... Well, I would say that so far so good. But on a second note we need to double time. This is our last leg of our preparations and somehow frustrations comes in. But whatever it is, I am so happy that there are people like my mom who helps and gives me all out support.

Last Monday, I headed to NSO to get a copy of our Birth Certificates and Cenomar. Prior to this, I already inquired to have it delivered to our place but I find it quite expensive and this will ruin my budget. But when I was there, filling out the forms, I said to myself, gosh, I can't do it. Plus the fact, that h2b was not with me and of course his signature is needed. So I said to myself that this will be useless. I then thought of the NSO delivery so I decided to pursue that instead. Good thing also, that our driver's mother-in-law is working at NSO and she can help us get the certificates at a lower cost. Maybe we saved around 200 pesos.. Well, I just wait for our copies and hopefully we can get it before the week ends.

Monday, Sept. 15, was also our schedule to go to our invitation maker. Leo couldn't find time to be with me so I went on my own instead and didn't manage to complain. So, anyways, we decided back then that we will go for QP and get the traditional designs. We have scouted a LOT of invitation maker as well as printing press but no one has really caught our attention well. When I was lurking at SM the Block, I saw a Printed Matter booth (there are my first choice actually), and so I went and ask. I was checking on their designs and really so far they impressed me. Well, if you know me, I would like to play with colors (as in different colors) and by far, they are the only invitation supplier who can do that at a cheaper rate. We have also set a budget for it and while thinking, why not go for it. Believe it or not, I spent almost 4 hours in their booth thinking about our wedding design and concept. Really wow! I couldn't wait to see our mock up designs next week.

Home Based Jobs

I just got so lucky when a home-based job fell into my shoes one day. Perhaps good connections really matter. I am not a believer at first but since I am being paid at the comforts of my own home (plus enjoying all the benefits), there is no reason for me to underestimate it. Anyways, I have friends who are now looking for this kind of opportunity so if anyone of you know other home based jobs, let me know so I could spread the word.

Too Tired

For the past weeks, Leo and I are busy doing a LOT of errands for our wedding. I even have to sacrifice my sleep for Saturday morning (my home based job ends at 9am) so we could go to our suppliers. I’ve been very busy reviewing our contracts and expenses, which gives me so much stress lately… Hahaha..

It’s good to know that Leo can accompany me all the time, which means I have a driver in tow. So I can take a quick nap on our way. It’s been a long time already since I held a gear, and I must say that having honey around is so precious! All I have to do is give him the directions or at times, I let him check the map on the supplier’s site.

Our whole Saturdays of September are already full. In fact I have a scheduled meetings for October and November already.

September 15 – NSO & QP for our invitations
September (No particular date yet) – need to arrange our documents
September 20 – House Blessing & My Brother’s Party
September 27 – Trip to Greenhills
October 6 – Meeting with my OTD
October 15 – Brother’s Graduation Day (MBA class)

November 6 – Prenup Schedule

See, I really need to plan my itinerary well. It’s good to know also that fuel prices went down somehow cause this means savings for us too. What I need right now is a good massage. Haay!!

Dreaming Of A Medical Profession

Did you ever think of pursuing a different course when you were still in college? On my part, I never thought that I would took up an engineering course since I always wanted to be part of media, art and a lot of social activities. But nevertheless, my engineering course is something I am most proud of. Just imagine surviving your five year college life with all math and science subjects not to mention other major subjects too. Honestly, I am always fascinated of medical courses. I remember when I was younger, I always say that I’ll become a doctor, a surgeon actually. But after learning that I need to spend more than eight years, I decided not to pursue it.

Now I am glad that there are medical assistant schools that we can choose from.I remember my husband-to-be during our early years of courtship enrolled for a medical assistant course for additional skills. Though he didn’t put into practice his learning, I know that someday, when it’s time to move in a foreign land, he can apply for a medical assistant position.

And this morning, I saw a mosquito in my hand though I am not sure if he was able to bit me.. Oh my.. I need fluids... More and more fluids. It is the only remedy I know.

How would you know if we are close?? Hmm..

Well, there’s no better way to answer that but my closest friends I guess.. Anyways, since we are preparing for the wedding, we would like to receive gifts either a contribution to our wedding expenses or monetary gifts so we could choose the best gift that suits our personality. But nevertheless, to attend to our wedding particularly in the ceremony is already a big gift.

Yesterday, my good friend, Rose texted me if I have checked out party pics live? Texted her back and told her that I will check later. I wasn’t able to check her other messages since my phone went empty and was still at the grocery then. The only time that I charged my phone was at 10pm so I didn’t get the chance to text her back.

When I try out the site she was telling me.. I am giggling. I never thought that my friend will search something like this and to think that she is pregnant! Well, she asked me if I could find two more friends so they could share this as a wedding gift.. So, do I really want this… Hmm.. Why not if it’s free!! My dilemma.. will I tell my other friends about it? Hahaah.. My two girl friends in college (who knows me very well) will be giving me a relaxation package so I am left with … I dunno… Hehe.. Kinda shy to ask I guess!

Still, I am very thankful for my friend who thought about this! Yes, she knows me very WELL.

I was suppossed to blog this a week ago but since I got so busy last week, I failed to post this!

I have blog about my parent's anniversary here few days ago. Of course, we did celebrate their big day! As usual, we had dinner. Mom reserved a table for six (6) at Saisaki, 7pm.. I actually can't rememeber the last time we ate here. I guess that would be five years ago already so when my mom reserved this for resto, got a big smile on my face.. Love japanese!

Aside from me.. the big boys are happy too (dad, my bro and Leo). Leo had three rounds for main course before giving up and go for desert. Oh well, I know his capacity. As for me, I just had a little of everything. Of course, I cannot pass strawberry ice cream for desert, my ultimate favorite. And since five of us ordered refillable ice tea, we got home 5 teddy bears in different colors...

After our BIG meal.. we are then prepared for more laughs.. I actually suggested that we go for ballroom dancing since my parents has been hitting the dance floor lately and of course it's the best way to loosen up. But then, we couldnt find a place in QC area so instead we hit the comedy bar, Klownz.

I have been to different comedy bars and the last time we watched this kind of show, we ( was with my parents too then) were kinda frustrated.. So I said myself, what is the difference.. EB (Eat Bulaga) performers? Duh! But to my delight, there is really BIG difference! Though of course, there are still some "gritty nitty" words that you hear every now and then, their act is "professional". And even my parents were satisfied with their performances.

I am not a Wally & Jose fanatic. But that night, they rocked the house and I become a fan literally!

We went home all smiles at 330 am!

What's Your Halloween Costume?

We have few months to go and it’s time to celebrate and bring out our Halloween costumes all over again. This is the time of the year, where everyone is having fun from toddlers, teens, young adults and yes even adults alike.

I, myself, vividly remembered how my cousin knelt down and urged her mom (my aunt) to buy her a new angel costume that she will be using for their schools trick or treat! She was so excited not only about the new costume that she can brag but the other surprises that goes with this festivity. No wonder why every year, she look forward to attending this kind of event. Now that she is a teen, her love for Halloween costumes has never fade.

In my case, though I have attended parties like this, I never dressed up or wore a costume. I just go to the celebration with my usual attire and somehow I pity myself. Goofing around once in a year is no big deal. So I made sure this time if ever I get an invitation to costume Halloween parties, I will make an effort to dress up.

So after our mass last Sunday, I finally put the nerve of making the first move.. after all, we both need to adjust to our personalities. And I was much happier..

Eventhough I don’t have a sister, it’s a good thing that I can borrow, ask, or even get my mom’s things. So aside from the bags that we normally share with one another, the other common denominator is the shoes. Though I am not fond of the heels now ever since I left the corporate world, I usually borrow her wedge shoes and on the other hand, she borrows my flip flops..

Last July, I bought a pair of wedge shoes since I felt I needed to update my look. I am tired of wearing flip flops and since Leo stands tall, I feel that whenever we are together wearing Havi or Crocs, I am small for his size.

Last Monday, honey and I discussed some wedding expenses.. And somehow he was shocked because our expenses ballooned already. I was quite sad of his reaction that is why during our grocery errand, I am just quiet all the time.

I asked him if he could talk to his “angel” but he doesn’t want to do the first step. Back then, I remembered that his “angel” will somehow shoulder some of the expenses. Though they haven’t asked from us yet but still I wonder if they will ever? :(

Good thing honey is really positive on this. Yes, I know we can pull it off but sometimes I just feel so bad if things don't fall at the right place.

Battle Over Weight

I was reading Valerie's post on weight lost (which is so interesting by-the-way) since I need help on this before my first gown fitting on Sunday. Haayy.. I hate gaining too much weight.. It's so sad also that my metabolism is too ssslow and yes I admit that I dont have enough activity too..

But anyway, how can you control your food intake if your husband-to-be is a food lover or lets say loves to eat most of the time. When we were still on our early days of our courtship, of course, I didnt realise that he eats too much (he stands 5'9 and is engaged to a LOT of activities so I guess he doesnt gain weight too much unlike me) plus we have other activities back then and at the same time I am in sales job so tripping to clients is my form of exercise already.

Five years ago, I dont weigh this much! And now, I badly need to lose weight for my big day.. My plan was... well,, I started eating small servings so I could naman enjoy life as well. I am just a sucker for sweets and that's really hard to resist.. And for this week, I bought fruits -- grapefruit and papaya for my meal.. Let me see if I can stand it.. On the other hand, since breakfast is our only bonding time before he goes to work.. I guess I should not deprive myself and join him for breakfast. Also, since my ipod is loaded with some dance songs, I a little dancing move wont hurt either!!

No Energy

As of this writing, I am still in state of shock.. Maybe because for the past three days we have experienced something out-of-the-ordinary.. Here it goes...

Come Monday evening, I asked my brother why the delivery van for our pet bottles havent arrived yet. Knowing their route, usually the van comes home at 6pm. At 11pm which is so unusual already.. my brother asked Leo to accompany him in searching. You see, we are not only worried of the van but of course with our workers.. Can it be a carnapping incident or they took away the van.. either the two.. when it was 1am already and about to go back home and proceed to police station, I asked my brother to fetch me up so I could accompany them. I am so worried also and couldnt focus with my work... I asked permission to my PM and will resume work by 2-3am.

We then dropped by first at the driver's in-laws haws, we live in the same village. They, too, havent received any calls from our driver.. My brother was then worried of what is happening.. He already thought that it's a carnap incident. It never crossed his mind that our driver might go somewhere else and partied hard coz he knew "daw" the driver. He was on denial.

At 2am, we were about to go to the police station.. I got all the necessary information.. the van came.. oh yes (take note: the driver never went to our home first -- something fishy right). So when he came out the van .. he said "kuya Mon, naka hit and run kame".. I said "what".. They said they hid from the police and stayed at his cousin's house in fairview.. I said "bat hindi nyo binabaan.. hot car na nagun yan"... and we heard a lot of alibi.. My brother just said, "bukas na lang tayo magusap"...

The next day... the driver and the pahinante came... Good thing, my work was finished already so I came down and joined them to know first hand what happenned... Here it goes:

Bro: anu ang nangyari Mac & Alfie (Mac -- Driver, Alfie -- pahinante)
M: un nga po kuya hit & run
B: hit and run, alam mu ba ibig sabihin ng hit and run? hot car na yan
M: un nga po kuya eh... (he keeps on saying that!)
So, I literally punched his face and said ... hindi ka magsasabi ng totoo... while Alfie is just staring..

B: Alfie, anung nangyari?
A: un nga po...
Me: So walang magsasabi ng totoo sa inyo ah (sabay sapak at tadyak to both of them)..
OO ako ung taga sapak at brutal sa kanila.. I am so MAD talaga..

A: 'Tol sabihin na kze natin.. so Alfie was the one who told the truth
M: pero naka hit and run po kame
B: ung totoo
A: hindi po.. sinabi po nuong pinsan nya na un po ang sabihin
Me: saying bad words... sabay tadyak at sapak to Mac (take note: nobody held me or said tama na yan.. though my bro was saying tama na pero after I did the deed).

To make the story short: They had a drinking session at his cousins place. Though Alfie was insisting to go home already, the driver said.. "akong bahala, malakas ako kay kuya". It was only when Alfie got the key, and insisted to go home, that's why they went home. Or else, they will be going home the next day. The worst is.. the van was so damaged.. The cartons were all over the place and we also saw a condom in the van.. Bad right..

Yesterday morning, my brother gave me a call, and said that he will pick me up since Mac & Alfie is in the shop to talk things over.. The drama driver was already saying sorry of what had happened and I just said that I cannot forgive you. That's It.

So my brother and I went home, and it's time for me to go to hit the sack as well.

I actually had a bad dream in the afternoon... I seldom have dreams but whenever I dreamt of something, somehow it is happening or it will happen.. I just ignore it since Leo texted me and asked me if I wanted something for a pasalubong.. Supposedly they have a basketball game in Marikina but it was postponed.

While watching news, my mom called me up and said:

Mom: Rhee, nanakawan tayo (referring to our condo in Makati)
Me: What... anu nakuha, tv?
Mom: No lahat ng jewelries ko and watches ng papa mo.. plus digicam
Me: Ha, papano?? Anu ginawa
Mom: Sinira ung pinto.. As in zero ako
Me: Okay.. Sino kasama mo dyan?
Mom: Ung mga security guard
Me: Okay... cge... (Dad was calling too and he said to me that he is on his way home and just tell my mom to stay calm).
Me: Ma, on the way na si papa..

(side kwento: my parents live in a condo in Makati since we live in far away Novaliches. They go home every Friday nights and go back Sunday afternoon).

While having dinner, my dad called and said to buy a new lock for the haws as they really need new one. My dad asked me to call Mon if he can come to Makati and my tito as well... So I called my brother in the shop and asked him if he is about to close..

Me: Mon, magsasara ka na?
Mon: Naku, hindi pa?
Me: Alam mo ba nangyari sa Makati
Mon: Hindi .. ANo?
Me: Telling him the story....

Called my dad and told him that Mon wont be available... My dad asked if Leo is in the haws and I said yes and just said if it's possible for Leo to come and I said cge..

Told Leo about it and he said, kame na lang sa shop.. I said No, that's kinda hard and I am not aware of how to run it now.. We need to buy a new lock... And just said Ok.. (It was a blessing also that Leo's basketball game was postponed..)

Me, my tito and Leo went to Robinsons to buy new locks.. Mas mahal cguro mas matibay I said. The store boys helped us also in choosing one... Afterwhich, we went to Makati already..

At the condo, I saw that there is a guard infront of our unit.. My dad was oustide and mom just had showered.. I went to her and asked what happenned... She said that she lost everything.. She actually account all the jewelries and yes I saw that "lahat wala na talaga". The jewelry box was empty. Good thing, she is wearing her Rado watch and her diamond earrings and ring BUT my dad's two Rado watch was gone as well and a digi cam too plus extra battery and cords and the SD card that still has pictures in it.

My dad is still calm then the usual bad side of me interrogated the guard..

Me: Ang mahal ng association dues dito ah, walang security..
G: Hindi naman po namin alam
Me: Hindi nyo alam.. Inside job to
G: Oo nga po eh..
Me: Panggabi ka ba? Bat hindi kase magtrabaho ng husto.. Magkakasabwat kayong lahat..

My mom fell asleep already.. And yes I know and I can feel that she is somehow depressed.. Mostly the jewelries that were robbed were gifts of dad and some of them was bought in Saudi (during my dad’s stint there years ago). And my mom is always investing on good finds.. so literally.. yes everything is gone..

Story: Two guards saw that our door was in bad condition at 545pm but they only reported it at 7pm..

At the police station.. we were told that a lot of tenants were being robbed in Palm Towers (condo’s name). July 19 was infact the last reported incident wherein a Japanese national took a holiday and when he came home, his valuables like jewelries are all gone. He only informed his broker about his holiday and when the police invited the broker to the station, he never showed up.. So you see..it is an inside job right.. and it’s somehow sad coz we are not just tenants or renting a unit but we are unit owners.

Spoke with my mom this afternoon and she went to the administration and was so furious about it. She questioned everything and asked for the action plan within 24 hours or else they will be all subject for investigation.. which is much better and I really urge my mom to really complain the admin.. We have the right to do it.

You see when the incident happened, only security guards were there. The management never showed up.

They say that misery comes in three. But I am hoping and praying that this is the last. We have poured all our energies to this two incident and we actually need to recover fast. God is still great! He never allowed something bad to happen to us (my family).

When we hit the sack this morning, I just hugged honey and keep on praying. I prayed for my loved ones and for the very first time, I was scared. I wanted to cry but there were no tears..

Movie Dates

This week we had a luxury of watching two movies, Dark Knight and Wanted. Though honey and I prefer the latter, it was somehow our escape to our wedding preps and work.. It's a good thing also that every Mondays, Leo could go home early (as in early) that's why he can accompany me to my grocery shopping. And since we had more time this Monday, we were able to squeeze in a movie date. We actually cannot remember the last movie we've watched. Yes, it's months ago already.. But anyways, it was really a nice theraphy (aside from massage and shopping of course!) though I must say that we are kinda not satisfied with Dark Knight. Oooppss... Sowee!! And since, I accompanied him yesterday in buying his tires (he got a huge discount -- thank you to my friend Rose, who works in a car magazine), he treated me and watched Angelina Jolie's Wanted.. Can I just say that she's is simply Amazing..

Pardon me with the late postings.. Like what I have mentioned in my previous post, my attendants had their measurements last Saturday. Though three, i mean two peeps weren't able to make it.. my MOH (Matron Of Honor) Irene and Bridesmaid cousin Ada (who is in Australia for World Youth Day), still everything went smoothly. Tet, my couturier is such a blessing. Though we already have previous designs, she still checks if that particular dress fits my attendants.. I am excited!

Anyway, I was in a bad mood as well .. Read my post ... three, i mean two... All of a sudden, my so-called secondary sponsor called me up and said, "Tired na ako.. Galing pa akong Sucat.. Next time na lang ako".. Okay.. The scenario is I informed them two weeks prior to this date to know also if my attendants are available. And of course, I have to adjust as well since the fitting would be on a Saturday, my shift ends at 8 am.. And the time set was at 10am.. So you see.. I, too had some sacrifices.. Since I am a certified maldita (accdg to h2b), I really put down the phone because I am so "bad trip". I know it's rude but hello... So she texted me and said that I hope I understand the situation and wished that I did not put down the phone. So I replied.. " You confirmed right!". So she texted again and this is the most hated part : "Galing pa akong work and once a week lang me umuuwi.. Hope you understand.. I can go to your designer place or you can find a replacement". Haaay... so what do you think! I never said that I will find a replacement and do you think that she'll have time to go in Pasig (couturier's place), Sucat is much nearer in Makati.. I talked to h2b and he said, well.. maybe she's not interested! Viola.. That's it.. So I decided to replace her na lang.. H2b is right! Never heard.. Andrea, I am sorry..

Here's another drama.. MOH Irene wasnt able to come as well. For some reasons which I do not bother to ask. When I called her Saturday morning around 1130 am (sya na lang hinihintay) coz she confirmed (and also advised me that she'll be in our place at Friday night -- reason why I went to Makati even though I don't have enough sleep yet). So when I called her on the nth time, she answered .. drey, just woke up.. Sorry!! I didnt utter any word.. Instead I just listen to her saying more than 10 times, I am sorry. I just said okay and when she asked if I am mad, I said yes!

Come Monday, I texted her and said that I'll be sending the measurement guide so she won't go to Pasig (she lives in Laguna). She asked me if I am mad .. and I said that I am quite disappointed.. Said my reasons and told her that it's over.. At least I vent out my feelings.... Thus, she doesn't need to worry coz she' s still my MOH.

I know I can be crazy at times but honestly, I am not expecting too much from my attendants.. first is.. we are geographically apart, and second.. they, too, are busy with work. My only expectation is.. just need them to cooperate with the measurements and fittings.. after all, I want them to look good too!

There are few people who really touches our lives and when they do, it is something that we always remember and cherish for the rest of our lives. Our "Ate Linda" is simply the best yaya that one could ever have. Inspite of having her own family (residing in Mindoro), she still chooses to work with us and that's really the most grateful gift of all. To cap a few, she's been with us for two decades, that's why she's like a second mother too. She's the best yaya that one could ever have. A reason also to treat her on her very special day!

I never thought that blogging can make you earn not until I had my first share of blogging money. Through word of mouth from blogging friends, I found Payperpost which will help me to earn more while doing what I love best, writing!

Eversince I started my blog adventures, friends advise me to sign up with this site and said to myself that I will eventually or after I have maintained a couple of articles here in my blog. I thought my blog will take some time to get its approval but I was wrong. After signing up, I got my approval within 24 hours. I guess it will also help that at least you maintain great write-ups in your site not just merely few sentences. It is also best to read their rules so at least, you'll have an idea of what to expect and not to expect.

So now I will definitely have more money for our wedding expenses and I guess it won't hurt if I will splurge some of my earnings in other things as well. Right! Of course, girls love shopping and sometimes it's nice to buy something special for yourself especially if it’s a hard-earned money. Thank you Payperpost!

Do you think men are more vain than women? Or they are more brand conscious than us girls?

Met honey at the nearest mall in our place instead of bringing the car (talking about gas expense now). On our way home, I suddenly realize where did he place the cake for our "ate linda"... and so I checked the backseat and guess what??? Yes,, he is more of a shopper. Two weeks ago, he bought Lacoste shoes and Oakley shades (my approval). And now.. Oh well, he bought again a Lacoste Polo Shirt (sport edition) and a pair of Levis pants. I was in awe when I saw his purchases cause why on earth he keeps on buying those things.. I didnt utter any word and he just said "last na to". Who am I to complain :( It isn't my money anyways.. I just said okay and informed him that we have a wedding to prepare so better save our pennies and other energies.

On the other hand, I still commend him cause before purchasing those stuffs, he already gave me his monthly share for our wedding expenses. It's just that, we have barely five months to go and there are still other things that we need to accomplish and yes, Pay!
